Will Larter left this review about Centurion Arms

This is a micropub in a small parade of shops. There were a few chairs and tables outside on the bright, sunny day when I was here last summer, but inside there were long pews and a nice settle with a curved back. There were "clouds" on the ceiling, made of cushion stuffing with appropriate shapes (mostly cumulus fair-weather), and coffee sacks on the walls. It's good to see noise baffling being attempted. Beer? Yes, there's beer - I was just coming to that.

The bar had five hand pumps with a cider and three real ales at the time of my visit. My half of Helmsley Striding the Riding was in good condition; the other beers were both from Wensleydale Brewery, and if I'd had more time before cycling to catch my train from the nearby station I might have tried one of them too.
