This is the brewery tap for Crouch Vale Brewery, located alongside the brewery on a trading estate in South Woodham Ferrers. The bar is located in a fairly small room, where a side room leads to a much bigger warehouse drinking space containing picnic tables and a dartboard. The bar area has laminate flooring and white painted walls. There are lots of CAMRA awards and certificates on the walls for their various beers, although not many since Covid. There are also plenty of CAMRA magazines on a shelf, peculiarly along with some Viz magazines.

Cask ales are fetched from a cool room behind the bar. 4 of the brewery's core range are available on gravity - Brewers Gold, Yakima Gold, Essex Boys Best Bitter & Blackwater Mild. In addition, Amarillo was also on. Ciders were Pulp Apple & Abrahall's AD. Bottled beers are available to take away. Although, service was a little on the strange side. I suspect the guy who served us is the brewer too. Initially, he seemed to be a customer who was sat at the bar. When ordering our drinks, we got some rather funny looks from him. I'm not sure whether he has a strange sense of humour or perhaps he just generally found us amusing! Locals who appeared seemed to be getting on with him just fine. So, perhaps they don't get many visitors.

Parking is on the road alongside or on the trading estate itself. There are some more picnic tables outdoors too. Dogs are welcome, with biscuits available on the bar.

I'm not sure I've ever found a Crouch Vale beer that I've been amazed with. Although, I think that here, they were as good if not better than I have tasted elsewhere.
