Blue Scrumpy left this review about Voodoo Keller Bar

Fairly new cellar bar run by the local Chelmsford Brewery. I met the owner as I approached. He was in the street moving their bins around. He followed me down to the bar and seemed quite a friendly chap.

3 of their cask ales were on - Community Green Hop Beer 2024, Cool Bay & 37th Parallel. I chose the 37th Parallel, a black IPA, after being given a taster. The owner also gave me a taster of the community beer, which was also a very nice beer. A real cider (Sandford Orchards Hangy Downs) was promoted on a small blackboard sat on a table, whilst craft beers were Forest Road Lewi Pacific Ale & Ride, Fierce & Noble Siesta, Good Chemistry Shadow Future & New Bristol Baby Beauty. The keg cider was Thatcher's Old Rascal. Note that payment is by card only.

The drinking space is split into 3 areas, being larger than it initially seemed. In the bar area to the left, there are quite a few neon lights and strangely a set of traffic lights on red. The one customer there before me seemed to be enjoying what was quite a decent soundtrack, which curiously was playing louder in the gents toilets than in the bar itself. 2 other young girls also arrived and ordered a bottle of wine.

Various events were advertised, including a quiz, DJ night, a ska, bluebeat & reggae night and Halloween fancy dress.

This seems like a good addition to the city's nightlife and already finds itself in the Good Beer Guide.
