Blue Scrumpy left this review about Barons
Latest Visit 21/3/26:
This time, I found Baron's Lounge open. It's a long, narrow bar with dark coloured wallpaper and dark floorboards. Fairly loud music was playing on a Saturday evening and some brass instruments hanging on the wall give clues that this place hosts occasional live music events. During my visit, it was frequented by some rather inebriated customers with a solitary dog keeping a low profile. Board games in the window are available for use.
The big disappointment here was the drinks range. There are a couple of handpulls at the end of the bar. One was unclipped and the other had a White Rat clip turned round. Even most of the keg taps had glasses over them and the fridges were looking quite bare. The available keg selection included Guinness, Staropramen, Dortmunder Pils, Aspall's, Thatcher's Juicy Apple and some kind of house lager.
Whilst this was quite a lively place, it really wasn't worth the effort getting to. Apparently there is a CAMRA discount but good luck in finding a real ale to get a discount from! In relation to the last review in 2017, if the Northwich pub scene was improving back then, it appears to be getting close to rock bottom these days.
Original Visit 8/3/26:
On the main pedestrianised shopping street through Northwich, this bar was closed on our visit to the town. A notice covering the opening times in the doorway stated that it was closed due to staff sickness. It is due to re-open on March 12th. With very restricted opening times, I'll attempt to give this place another try sometime soon.

Malden man left this review about Baron's Lounge
A new shop conversion in the centre of town which probably has claims to be a micropub although technically wouldn't qualify as there are ten keg taps. The bar is in the back corner, the floor is bare boarded and there is a lot of brown wood panelling. Sofas on one side, a few high tables to the other plus a drinking ledge opposite the metal topped bar counter.
Lytham Ape Ale, Wily Fox Karma Citra, Borough Brewery Wintertime Dark and 4Ts WSB. My Karma Citra was at the pleasing price of £2.70.
A good and welcome addition to the improving Northwich pub scene.
