David Ross left this review about Drouthy Neebors
The Scots dialect name comes from the opening lines of Robert Burns' poem "Tam O'Shanter," and refers to thirsty (drouthy) neighbours meeting in a pub.
"When chapman billies leave the street, And drouthy neebors neebors meet."
It's a large establishment with the bar at the front, a lounge cum restaurant behind it and a beer garden outside at the back. The former has a full island bar with lots of seating and standing room around it on the stone flagged floor. There was a TV screen in each of the four corners of the room. Guinness was £3.40 a pint and Belhaven Best, Punk IPA, Strongbow cider and Tennent's, Carling, Stella Artois, Hop House 13 and Peroni lagers were also on tap. This is supplemented by a printed menu of wines, gins, whiskies and cocktails. There is also a good value food menu. A good pub and very convenient for Largs station.
