Real Ale Ray left this review about The Norseman

This one room pub was a restaurant previously and opened in April of this year, by the owners of local micro, the Old Tap. It will do well in Crosby I imagine, and the well run micro Corner Post is a few minutes walk away, so there's plenty of options around the area for good ale. 5 handpumps here with 4 on, Purple Moose Dark Side of the Moose, Salopian Land of Confusion, Salopian Hop Twister Haze & Buxton Let There Be Light. I had the Salopian priced at £4.60 a pint. Bar is on the right as you walk in and the interior is quite modern, with undressed brick and cream painted walls. Lots of seating in this area, with a few high tables and chairs near the bar area. There's a huge outdoor seating area, which was full of people eating and drinking. There's live music on the terraced area on Fri/Sat/Sun, also at the weekends there's food vans outside. Nice place, although not really my cup of tea, but good to see a nice range of ales on offer.

I called in at 5pm on a Saturday night. It was full of families eating. I was the only drinker at the bar. As previous review, the two handpumps on the bar had vanished. I asked the barman what had happened to them and was told,
"They were a nightmare, they had to be cleaned out once a week!"
I don't think the cask would have been on good form in here. OK as a family restaurant but, like Al, I am unlikely to return for a drink.

This is a modern eatery drinkery place. Its one largish room with the eatery part to the left and a small drinkery part to the right. The bar is also to the right. The is a conservatory also to the left. There are no handpumps on the bar just the usual shiny chrome T-bar thingies. The are two pumps for guest ales, which seem to be Liverpool Craft beers. There are some pump clips on display on the wall but when I asked if there was any real ale I was told only the guest keg beers. Its not the worst place I've been in but its doubtful I'll ever visit again.

A bar & grill. Mainly for eating but drinkers welcome around the bar area or the large outdoor area.
Two handpumps on the bar.
