A large, dire roadside chav magnet with less charm than most chain pubs. There is a large car park which was difficult to enter due to racer boys thraching their old bangers up and down, and a group of elderly oxygen thieves resting on their dole poles right in the gate. Inside, there are 2 main bar areas, one more of a sports bar with a pool table and large TV showing live football, the other equally noisy and malodorous; this one has a small open fireplace. There is also apparently a skittle alley, but we didn’t get to see it. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the majority of the customers were self-important tourists and mouthy morons from the local pool of unemployables, many shirtless, most charmless. Food is standard chain pub-style fare at reasonable prices in contrast to the beer prices, plus they offer well-priced Sunday lunches. The over-priced beer range included no real ale, just Heineken, Amstel, Neck Oil, John Smith’s, Moretti and Fosters. Best avoided.

I have visited this venue a couple of times now and im really surprised on how nice it has become with friendly locals and bar stewards who were very polite.Although I haven't tried the food myself from what i have seen being brought out to other customers it looks very nice and the plates have always come back empty which looks like a good sign so will try the food on my next visit. The drinks are also very nice unlike some venues where it can taste almost stale. Well done to the bosses who seem to running a very nice clean busy pub.
