We really enjoyed our visit to this micro as we were made most welcome and were even invited to help ourselves at the buffet, when the cricket match had finished. The entrance to this micro is at the back on the cricket pavilion and once inside you get a great view over the pitch from all the good sized windows. The interior is traditional with green and mustard coloured painted walls and 70's style curtains and seating. The main emphasis here is dedicated to the once local miners in this close knitted community. Lots of photos of Newstead Colliery and a hall stand with the original jackets and hard hats that were worn, and another interesting feature was the Davy Lamp positioned on top of the mantlepiece. Four ales on handpump, Pheasantry Dancing Dragonfly, Hollow Stone Pale, Notts Brewery Bitter and Dunkeries Porter.
