Located opposite the Barbican, you'd blink and miss this place if it weren't for the A-boards out front plugging either their breakfasts (morning) and happy hour (early evening). A squarish, high-ceilinged room with a counter against the right-hand wall, there are large, exposed pipes on the ceiling adorned with ivy which removes an overtly industrial aspect from proceedings. Floor is boarded throughout with a tiled bar apron. Happy hour (5-7) allows a pound off a pint - so my Pravha lager "only" came in at £3.50 (the other options were standard Staropramen, Chieftain IPA and Guinness). Type on the entrance door declares this place a 'restaurant, delicatessen, cafe and bar". It's certainly a jack of all sorts, but was well-populated on my happy hour visit.
