Real Ale Ray left this review about One Eyed Stag
This micropub was a former newsagents/post office and can be found between a bookmakers and an Indian restaurant. The interior is one good sized square room with the bar area found along the back right hand wall, which was made from pine with a patterned tile counter. To the left of the bar was a small storage area, used as a bottle shop.
High wooden tables and stools filled the majority of the central area, which were all bespoke with the one eyed stag's logo laser carved on each table top. There was also bench seating along the left hand wall as you enter, with a small green glazed tile wall making a feature wall at the end. Four handpumps, with three in use on our visit, which were two from Firebrick Brewery and one from Box Social Convive Blonde. I went for the Box Social, which was a good session ale on the day. I also tried the Sonnet 43 Bourbon Milk Stout, which was interesting. To get here by public transport from Newcastle City Centre, take the X30 bus from Newcastle train station, or the Metro to Gateshead Metro Centre and then the 97 bus.
