Visited 02/06/26. Visited previously as Nicholas Culpepper the JDW on 02/06/19.
No cask. Keg offering of Sussex Premium Lager from Hepworth, Silly Moo cider, Guinness, Camden Pale, Peroni, Stella.
Just inside level 2 landside of North Terminal. Modern bare boarded with a colourful tile skirt along the front of the bar counter which is along the rear wall on the right-hand side as you enter the terminal building. There is a large crimson leather booth table immediately by the walk into the open-plan space. Plenty of seating around the bar counter with tall tables with the same crimson leather benches and tall backed stools the other side thereof. A long lime green leather banquette facing the bar counter along the left-hand side serving regular tables with regular chairs the other side thereof. Over at the far end are many regular tables and chairs more obviously for diners. A TV on the far wall was tuned into BBC News absent sound that provided by an annoyingly jaunty pop soundtrack for the time of morning! Aside from the high strip lighting of the actual terminal building, the illumination was provided by globe lighting in arrays on the three posts amongst the booth tables in front of the bar counter. A stairway beyond the far end of the bar counter leads to an upstairs enclosed further seating area. Sad the JDW no more, but at least this place replaces it to provide a landside drinking option in the North Terminal.

Nice place, open to the passing travellers, though they have an upstairs area. Only two ales on tap. Greene King IPA & Nicolas Culpepper. But sold at £4.70. Can't say much about the decor, as there isn't any walls. The staff are friendly. This bar is in the North Terminal, in case you are trying to find it. Take the free shuttle between terminals. I may visit upstairs area, so will update this review. Update. Visited the upstairs area. All seating, geared up for food but you can just go there with your drink.

The Nicholas Culpeper is a relatively new landside airport bar and restaurant. The bar supports a standard and premium keg range alongside two hand pumps that were drawing Greene King IPA and Nicholas Culpeper Golden Ale. I opted for the Stella which was £4.80 a pint. This bar boasts of being the world’s first airport gin distillery, I don’t like gin so this was of little interest to me. The usual pub grub is available to eat in the bar or the upstairs restaurant. Burger with chips was priced at £11.
The staff work hard and were very friendly, but there is no accounting for the vacuous morons that populate any built-up area so be prepared for selfish stupidity from some patrons. All in all, I thought this place was OK and next time I get my flight times mixed up and arrive three and a half hours early I will pop back in for another couple of wife-beaters.
