The Carclaze is a sprawling Whitbread Inns pub next to a Premier Inn that I recently stayed at. To the right of the entrance seating runs across the front windows that are faced by the serving counter across the rear wall. Standard keg was available alongside Madri, Birra Moretti and four hand pumps, two of which were in use drawing Doom Bar and Sharp’s Atlantic. To the left and right of the central bar area are large dining areas. This is a food led pub for people that like pub co grub, so young families and pensioners.

Large roadside family chain pub just off the A391 next door to the St Austell Premier Inn with whom it shares two large car park spaces.
Owned by Whitbread its a fairly standard family pub set up with a central bar as you enter and then several separate dining areas either side of the main bar. And then some outside seating areas dotted around the outside area. We only stopped here for an afternoon pint and in that respect two ale pumps on the bar and one of those was a decent St Austell Proper Job.
Best complement you can pay places like this is that it serves a purpose.
