Real Ale Ray left this review about Chip N Ern
This former mobile phone shop had some interesting features. The first of which was the well received air conditioning, on such a hot day. I also liked the reclaimed gothic carved timber bar front, which was painted in black and had blue LEDS under the front counter. The lighting over the bar counter was three banks of heavy gauge plumbers jointing fixed together with filament bulbs attached. There was also a choice of seven handpulled ales, across a solid oak counter. All their beers were priced at £3 a pint, so I went for the Bingley Centennial golden ale, which was an excellent choice. A few Guitars and Ukuleles sat in the front window, there to be played on their Tuesday folk nights.
The slight downside on our visit was when a nearby lady's mobile phone rang and her loud and audible conservation was starting to grate with me.

Old Boots left this review about Chip N Ern
Not a converted chip shop as the name and shape might suggest, the two gentlemen pictured in the windows are the landlady's grandfather and his brother, the original Chip and Ern. Small counter with a good range of well kept local beers, micropub atmosphere with friendly owner & staff. There is an other bar upstairs.
