rustic style brewpub acting as a showcase for Kirkby Lonsdale brewery, there are 14 (!) cask ales on the go at any time. I suspected this was an overstretch and indeed my crafty mild came out slightly sour - this just isn’t acceptable, particularly in their own tap. Extremely trendy, I thought I was back at Lancaster Uni craft beer society, with a mostly 20 something clientele drinking a mixture of beer and coffee. Not what I expected at all on a Thursday afternoon in such a tiny remote town! Card only at the bar and I was stuck for a few minutes behind a queue ordering pizza. Modern rustic dimly lit interior on two levels. It’s a nice and thriving place that should have been the highlight of the day but the crap beer really let it down, I would have tolerated the aloof staff and irritating customers otherwise.
