No cask. Keg offering that was quite led by cider with half a dozen still and the same number of sparkling varieties. The Gwynt Y Ddraig Black Dargon led the way in terms of strength! Keg beers were the Big Wednesday IPA and Single Fin lager both from Harbour, then their own branded Stable pale ale and then the Korev lager and Camden Hells.
Interesting, shaped venue specialising in craft beers and ciders and doing a roaring pizza trade on my visit. Indeed, the pizza kitchen is to the left of the entrance in a bare boarded venue with typically leather padded benches serving longer rectangular tables. The bar counter is to the immediate right of the entrance, and the right-hand end has more regular tables and chairs and a leather banquette fitted around the curved glass end of the venue. There is a large upstairs seating area with an island bar in the centre not operational on my visit and with plenty of regular tables and chairs and some nice views of the pine trees out the windows away from the roadside which is the proverbial car crash of road works. The ground floor has a decent veranda seating area with picnic style benches looking out at the pine trees. The venue was lovely and cool on a very hot afternoon, and the pizza was very tempting!

As chain pubs go, this one is a good one – although they don’t do real ale, they do offer an excellent range of real ciders and perries. You enter the single room bar area by climbing a flight of stairs from street level, and find yourself in an open, airy atrium. The young staff are helpful and welcoming, and it's quite a pleasant place to sit. We had a flight of 5 ciders which was great for variety, and it informed later choices. The ciders and perries were certainly in excellent condition, though some of the flavours weren’t to my taste – rhubarb cider, for example, which tasted very artificial to me but was, in any case, far too sweet. The food was also good, and the takeaway pizza we took away was prepared quickly, was delicious (much better than any of the takeaway pizza chains) and the chillies in it added greatly to post-pub amusement. It’s not particularly cheap, but it’s somewhere I’d be very happy to visit again, and it’s one of the better places in this part of town for many reasons.
