Blue Scrumpy left this review about Left Luggage Room

Part of the Monkseaton Metro station outbuildings, this is a rather atmospheric station bar which was doing a brisk trade on our Saturday evening visit, but the barmaids were doing a good job of getting everybody served.

It features exposed brick walls. You enter from the eastbound platform and the bar is against the far left wall as you go in. There are 6 handpulls and all were clipped with Flying Gang Fallen, Citra Blonde & Dark Moon, Two By Two NZ Pale & Thornbridge Hirundo & Lord Marples. Craft beers were Two By Two New England Pale, Vault City Blueberry Muffin Waffle Cone Crunch, Flying Gang My Mistress Is The Sea & Yonder Millionaire. The keg cider was Nightingale Lovebird.

I thought this was quite an atmospheric station bar, easily accessible and probably the pick of some good options in Monkseaton.

Converted from the left luggage store on Monkseaton Station. The layout of the interior is one decent sized room, with the bar at one end and a cold room accessible from a door at the corner of the bar. The walls have been left untouched and the aged paintwork and bare brick adds some interest. A collection of old suitcases and trunks featured along the front of the bar area. The floor was made up from good sized pieces of reclaimed oak set out in a geometric pattern. There were six ales on handpumps along the bar, which were quite difficult to see, thanks to a collection of local bar flies. We went for the Almasty Dank IPA and Two by Two Brewery Institution. The pub also had a choice of 20 different gins and the equivalent choice in Whiskeys.
