Or Golden Glass if you prefer the English version. I don’t usually bother with adding or commenting on station bars, but as I had 40 minutes or so to kill at Ashford Eurostar terminal, there really was no option other than to have a beer in here. It sells only bottles with mainly lagers of course, but with Hall & Woodhouse Fursty Ferret (£4 a half litre), Whitstable Bay Organic Ale, Shipyard American IPA, Old Golden Hen and Spitfire all available. I’ve been in pubs where a bottle of Fursty Ferret would have been a massive step up in beer quality.
Obviously being a station bar, the usual sort of pastries and sarnies are available. There’s a fair amount of seating on the concourse next to the bar from where you can watch the Eurostar boards and the taxis and cars hanging around outside, plus people negotiating the rotating door. Exciting or what? It is what it is - a station bar, but one which came in very handy when I had to hang around for forty minutes or so.
