Up until a few months ago this place was known as the Black Market which was more like a meat market. Know known as the Old Market gone are the bouncers, pool table, dance floor and loud music to be replaced by a gastro type bar with minimal décor and low background music. The food is priced at the higher end for the town, but burgers are available for around £8. Premium keg is available from the bar the supports a single unused hand pump. Bar opening times are: Closed Mondays; 16:30 – 23:00 Tuesdays and Wednesdays; 12:00 – 23:00 Thursdays; 12:00-00:00 Fridays and Saturdays and 12:00 – 19:00 on Sundays. Kitchen opening times are: 16:30 – 21:30 Tuesday and Wednesday; 12:00 – 15:00 and 18:00 – 21:30 Thursday and Friday; 12:00-17:00 and 18:00-21:30 Saturdays and 12:00-18:00 Sundays.
I found the service to be polite, but I found the atmosphere to be a dull as the décor. For the prices charged I would rather eat at a proper restaurant.
