Micropub which is probably the highlight of any trip to Whitley Bay. This pub is a single room with red walls and old bottles on shelves high above the rooms. There are also plenty of pictures to admire on the walls. Board games were sat on a barrel are available to play. It's carpeted, unlike most micropubs. But with no music, conversation was allowed and the atmosphere was still lively.
The bar staff appear to be knowledgeable and are happy to offer advice if you are unsure what to order. I arrived to find 4 cask ales - Milton Prometheus, North Riding Single Hop Series - Idaho 7 & Durham Magus & Dark Angel. The Dark Angel soon went off, with the North Riding beer following it shortly after. These were quickly replaced with Three Kings Dark Side of the Toon & North Riding Mosaic Pale. In addition, to the main 4 handpulls, there were a couple further unused ones at the end of the bar.
Ciders were Lilley's Rhubarb Cider, Strawberry Cider & Cherries & Berries. Craft beers were Duration Juicy Pale, Two By Two Snake Eyes, Flash House Running Free & Iron Giant, Anarchy Citra Star, Polly's West Coast Pale & Turning Point Daydream Nation.
At 6%, my Prometheus was a bit stronger than what I was looking for at this stage of the day's proceedings, but it was in good condition. Very difficult to find too much fault with this place. I'd gladly return next time I'm in Whitley Bay.

A truly excellent micropub this one. What really stood out on our visit was how friendly and chatty the local drinkers were. This former ladies clothes shop has been open for one year to date. The owner and his wife were also very welcoming and chatty and they are due to open their onsite microbrewery at the rear of the pub in the near future. Four handpumps on the bar, I went for the Credence Brewery Mosiac Single Hop from Northumberland, which passed the two pint test.
