Will Larter left this review about The Crown Inn
It was very quiet at the time of my Sunday afternoon visit, but the young lass behind the bar assured me it would get busy with locals later, and that this is a strong area for tourists - holiday cottages and caravan parks - who find it handy for the Lake District. So it can get busy at any time. This is a pleasant old building with an unusual style of internal decoration - not so much bric-à-brac as what some might describe as tasteless tat. The public bar, to the left on entering, has a TV screen, pool table and darts. I didn't go in to the other room. There were two hand pumps on the bar, and my half of Eden Best was in very good condition and reasonably priced - an advantage of not actually being in the Lake District. Food includes fish & chip Tuesday, when said items can be bought to eat in or to take out.
