E TA left this review about Miller and Carter Ruislip
A recently renovated pub, formerly The Plough, now principally a middle-grade steak restaurant. It sits in a side road and is entered from its own car park through a side-door that feels like the lobby of a cheap Amsterdam hotel. You are greeted by a young foreign lady who doesn't know what a pub is and insists you have to wait for a table, which is not true. Ignoring her, you have the choice of the restaurant area to the right, or stepping down to a small bar which appeared unmanned and didn't, in any case, sell real ale, proper cider or anything resembling it. Neither area is particularly convivial. The food is over-priced for what you get, and it isn't that well prepared. Not worth returning unless you like jumped-up steak and mediocre wine.
