Real Ale Ray left this review about The Pines

Nice little bar a short walk from Hillside station. Long and narrow, with toilets at the rear. Bar on the right as you enter, 2 ales on, Wye Valley HPA & Salopian Lemon Dream. Lots of people sitting out front on a sunny day. Not very exciting on the beer front, but it's popular with the locals and that's always nice to see.

Old Boots left this review about The Pines

Thin and short micro although with a partially covered and heated front outdoor seating area. Formerly a GBG listed pub. Two large screens at the front, counter to right with two pulls at the far end the beers are often from Salopian and on this occasion from Black Edge too. Separate toilets at the back.

Al Bundy left this review about The Pines

A small foodie type place. A very small L-shaped area to the front with 2 hanpumps on the bar serving local beers from Southport and Formby today. A selection of bottled beers is on display to the right of the bar.
