Originally a working men's club for the village, now open to the public and operating as a pub. The building is mainly late-Victorian with 20th Century extensions. There is a large car park and outside seating, some of it on an astroturf patch by the conservatory at the back. Inside, there is a large foyer, in which sit a huge gas barbecue and some children's chairs, which leads to a dining room at the side and the main bar in front. The bar has seating at one end and a large dance floor area. Dogs are allowed. On entry, the initial experience is olfactory - there is a powerful smell of stale chip fat which put us off eating. There is a pool table, several gaming machines and a cash machine in the bar. There is also a dart board. Three ales on handpump, Doombar, Ringwood Best and Belhaven St Andrew. The beers were not well kept, but the prices weren't that high. It's a bit scruffy, fine if you're accompanied by a wet, muddy dog or three, but not somewhere I'd rush to find.
