Originally situated around the corner in Forth Street (now the Box Social), this micropub now occupies a slightly larger arch under the same railway line. We were the first customers in on Saturday, which was surprising when you consider there were over 7,000 Luton Town fans in Newcastle that day. As well as six hand pumps with five real ales (the house beer was doubled up - see photos) there were some taps on the bar back which I didn't investigate. Service was friendly and the beer in good condition, so I reckon I'd be back next time I'm here - it's quite handy for the station, too.

This is a decent size for a micropub and consists of a long room that narrows at the end and has the bar in the middle on the left. The seating in this one is mostly low tables and chairs and there was a classic rock soundtrack playing quietly. As well as the CAMRA discount they also do a pie and a pint of real ale for a fiver.
The six hand pumps had two Errant Clever Chimps, Bridgehouse Holy Cow, Taylor's Landlord, Stockport Bitter Lemon and Saints Row Even Drop. I went for the Holy Cow which was excellent. Another good micropub.

A well run large micro, with good service at the bar even when busy on our Friday night visit. Five handpumps with Errant Clever Chimp repeated over two pumps. We decided to go for the Errant Clever Chimp, which was a big mistake as it was close to John Smiths keg. I might give it another chance, when the beer choice is more to my preference.

A much bigger venue than their original railway arch just around the corner. This is very large for a micropub and even has a skittle alley upstairs. Apart from the size though it ticks most of the micropub boxes. Five handpumps on the bar plus several ciders behind it. Hot pies are available as the main food option. Unusually for a micropub there's also a dartboard amongst the rather rickety tables and chairs. They do a CAMRA discount but this only applies to pints. It's an interesting place and we called in twice on our recent visit to Newcastle.
