Visited on a weekday afternoon in July. 7 cask ales available plus 9 keg with variety including craft and cider options. I went for the Bohemian Ratsody on cask at £2.05 or so for a half. A TV displays the beer menu.
This is a smart, nicely decorated place, an obvious shop conversion, with music playing at a sensible volume. The front room contains the bar to the left wall and seating consists of mainly high tables and chairs. There is a room to the rear and stairs in the middle (upstairs not investigated). Dogs are welcome. Busy at the time of my Thursday visit just before 4pm.
A decent offering and well worth calling in.

Wednesday was my second visit to the Guild Ale House. My last visit in March 2018 was on a cold evening. It stuck in my memory as possibly the best pub in Preston. This early summer evening visit was not quite as good.
This time, getting a seat in the main room was not so much of an issue. The bar is against the left wall and there is a small lounge area to the rear left. Toilets and more drinking space can be found upstairs.
7 cask ales are dispensed. For our visit, these were North Riding Porter & US IPA (V82) Amarillo, Columbus, Lancaster Redemption, Beartown Glacier, Fownd Labyrinth of the Souls, Silhill Hop Star & Full Circle Golden Ale. Ciders were Sheppy's Farmhouse Medium & Lilley's Raspberry Lemonade Cider. Craft beers were Lancaster Alter Ego & Whiplash Slow Life.
My Lancaster Redemption was not the best and I only realised after ordering that my Sheppy's 200 was a keg cider. I'm also sure that there were several more ciders the last time I was here. So, perhaps I didn't make the best drinks choice but I didn't enjoy this visit as much as my last. Reducing my score to 7/10 and giving it the benefit of the doubt.

A revisit as I recall this being my second favourite Preston pub of the PuG crawl a couple of years back. It’s really good and absolutely should be visited on rotation with the Black Horse. My Rat Brewery Rattucino was in great shape for a weekday afternoon (NBSS 4) and the place was busy, unlike a number of nearby outlets. Upped by a point.

Advertised as a micropub but I think that might be pushing the term a bit! Fair sized place with an upstairs room as well. Interior is a bit mimsy but has a pub rather than traditional micro feel, the oak – or oak effect – bar back set it off nicely alongside the high ceiling. Spotted a piano, wonder if it’s tuned? Unlike a number of other places in town this modern bar is concentrated on the cask rather than keggycraft end of the market – most of the kegs I noted were for Euro standards. Think I counted seven cask on across a variety of styles and strengths, my Wishbone Tiller Pin was in great shape (NBSS 4). I’d make sure to pop in again next time. GBG ’22 listed, inevitably. Rated 8

Lovely looking (and sized) Micro Pub. High ceilings making it feel less claustrophobic than your typical. Two rooms - a downstairs bar and an unexplored upstairs room.
Decent beers in Keg and Cask. I went for a Keg Rivington.
Would call again.

A very good micropub, which was dealing with a busy bar very well. It didn't help that there were about 12 of us from the PuG crawl in the bar, but they coped admirably. Well described below and my pint of Fierce & Noble was in very good nick. I'll definitely be coming back to this one.

As a converted former shop this place has managed to generate a quite decent pub feel bridging the gap somewhat between a trad pub and modern bar. The beers have already been described below , I too went for the Wild Child Glutinus Maximus and concur with its excellence, this sentiment also extends to the Alehouse.

Guild Ale House is a single room shop converted bar with an L-shaped serving counter on the left wall adjacent to a large chalk board mounted on the wall to the left. This board lists seven cask ales, which tallies with the amount of handpumps on the bar. Three real ciders are also listed alongside some craft lagers available from the nine or so keg fonts.
There is a table with chairs in the front windows either side of the entrance and a couple of high tables with stools are found in the centre of the room. Along with a piano, there is shelving to rest beers on along the right hand wall. Stairs at the rear lead to the upstairs toilets and a large room full of seating. The service was polite and the atmosphere was good during my Friday afternoon visit.

Converted from a former charity shop, this was Preston’s first micro pub when it opened in 2016, but I agree with others that it is definitely more mini than micro.
Six ales on as described by Mr Fastard below and I was very pleased to be reacquainted with the Wilde Child Glutinous Maximus Sticky Toffee Milk Stout that I had enjoyed in the Moorbrook the evening before and it was absolutely gorgeous in here also.
This is a very good example of the genre and although I also prefer a more traditional pub I fully appreciate this is the way forward for keeping beer drinking choice in towns and cities nowadays and will not penalise it due to my personal preferences. For example I certainly wouldn’t moan if one or more of the plethora of chicken shops, betting shops or charity shops on Tottenham High Road were converted like this.

Founded in 2016, this is Preston's first micropub. It's more stylish than most though, with a clubroom-style upper drinking area, dominated by a gigantic hound, me opting for a half of the Wild Child Glutinous Maximus which I rather liked. This is probably good for the breed, but I prefer a more traditional drinking venue.

A nice shop conversion, as amply described below with the omission of a further back room behind the bar. The beer was in very good form. Also handy for the bus station.
