Looks like a shop conversion ,but there is quite a lot of room internally and a long staircase leading to a first floor club room with high backed chairs,and a very traditional feel.
The tap room has room for vertical drinking but also seating to three sides.It was busy without feeling packed.
The ale selection on my trip was Wishbone Common Chord and Tiller Pin,Fierce & Noble Brizzle Pale ,Black Lodge Start the Parade,Neepsend Blonde,Only with Love Yacht Rock and Wilde Child Glutinous Maximus (NBSS 4.5,outstanding 8.5% sweet yet drinkable toffee milk stout).A very decent range and there were also 10 keg taps if you want more variety but mostly continental lagers ,less craft keg.
I thought this place was very good and should not be missed when in Preston.I would happily go back.

I wasn't so impressed with this larger than average microbar and there were six hand pumps rather than seven at the time of my visit, though these statements are unrelated. The variety of ales reported previously seems to have been replaced by a sameness, with all but one of the beers being blonde. I went for Lancaster Black, which I find to be a reliable drink wherever I come across it. There were a number of keg fonts, but a quick perusal gave the impression of continental beers and lagers. It was quite busy in here on my Friday afternoon visit, so they must be doing something right. It's only my aversion to blonde beers with new world hops that leads me to score 6 rather than the 8 that others have given.

Generally a great pub but when busy I was a bit miffed by the blatant preferential service to locals, otherwise well worth the visit.

This micro is located behind Preston's Town Hall and close to the Guild Hall. We visited here on a Saturday, so this part of town was very quiet. It was good to see quite a few drinkers already supping away on our lunchtime visit.
The main features here was the original shop front with large windows either side of an internal framed glass front entrance. The bar area positioned on the left of entrance was also quite elaborate, finished in oak, along with a brass handrail around the counter. Seating in the main bar consisted of high and low tables and chairs, plus there was also a smaller room leading off this with some upholstered bench seating, which was slightly more private. Seven ales on handpump, so we went for the Farmyard Ales TVO 54 Blonde Ale and the Wishbone Tiller Pin, both were fine and only priced at £2.95 a pint.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Guild Ale House
More of a mini-pub than a micro one, with a second small room behind the main bar area. Still, much the same ethos though, with a limited amount of seating and sparse decoration that does not detract from the main feature, namely the bar and its seven handpumps. I went for the Ramsbury RPA (£2.90), but with the varied choice from the other pulls it would have been easy to have chosen differently.

a pleasingly traditional friendly micropub with all of the elements you expect of such a place. this one just made a good impression on me. the clientele was entirely middle aged men talking rubbish. so very much a pub and not a bar.

A decent micro. 2 rooms on the ground floor with a staircase between the 2 rooms. There are 7 handpumps on the bar with the beers being Reedly Hallows Griffin, Lancaster Mosaic, Arbor Oz Bomb, Hawkshead Dry Stone Stout, Northern Monkey The Last Drop, Lancaster Haymaker and Bowness Bay Summer Blonde. There are also 9 shiny keg taps for crafty fizz. I didn't go upstairs so don't know what's up there apart from the toilets. Its a well presented pub and well worth a visit.

Decent one room place with the bar on the left. Reasonable selection of real ales with bottles and cider/perry in the fridge. Toilets upstairs together with another room. Glass frontage made this place well lit up.

This Grade 2 listed building is situated across from the Town Hall and used to be an hospice shop in a former life.As you enter the bar is to your left with an array of high tables and chairs to the right of this.Beyond the sleep staircase is another room although I did not look in here.Work is ongoing upstairs to create more seating and will be finished later in the year.
There were were 7 cask beers on the go all at reasonable prices with a blackboard close to the window stating the strengths and prices
