Modern bar in double shop unit with covered space in front. Three hand pumps and numerous keg taps. Beers listed on video screen - pump clips hard to read in subdued lighting. My half of Blackjack Best Bitter was very good - I always liked this brewery, as their beers were obviously very well made but mostly not to my taste (this was six to eight years ago). This one is true to style though perhaps not as bitter as the likes of Holts or Acorn Barnsley Bitter.

Would class it as a micro, as it is a converted shop.

GBG2023 entry.

A digital board (that changes every 15 seconds) details the keg/cask offering. Choice run onto two pages, which requires a bit of staring waiting for the screen to change again. This board also has a live feed to untappd checkins - so you can have your moment of fame.

Offers a selection of Pie and Mash - which were decent.

Beer choice varied. Who would have thought a 9% Imperial Stout would be a good match for a beef and stilton pie :-)

Not sure that this is a micropub anymore since it's expanded into the shop next door and changed its name to Traders. It's more of a small bar really selling lots of spirits and wine and had music playing rather loudly on my Friday, early evening visit. Both the bar and the mural mentioned below are good, but the rest is a bit basic really. Mainly café style tables and chairs that look like they've been salvaged from a school plus a banquette to the left. A mix of people in, mainly in their 30's, along with a couple of dogs. The barmaid was friendly enough, but obviously didn't want to chat. 3 beers available and my pint of Great Heck Blonde was in good condition. It's a decent bar, but not my favourite around here by a long chalk.

A modern style micro that attracts the younger crowd and is not as welcoming or friendly compared to the Samuel Oldknow further into town. I did think the interior was very well done, apart from the hanging fairy lights across the ceiling. The bar had an oak counter top along with a white tiled front. There was also a hand painted mural on the right hand side which I liked. Four handpumps with three in use serving, Cross Bay Blonde, Brewsmith IPA and Thornbridge Jaipur. We went for the Brewsmith, which was a decent pint.
