Blue Scrumpy left this review about White Hart

One of a couple of pubs in the village of Boxford, the White Hart has an interesting history. There are a several pictures inside of a lion that was once kept here. In addition, it was once the home of a Wall of Death motorbike rider. Supposedly, the lion rode a motorbike too! That may have been the reason why the pub's car park had been closed off for a bikers' meeting on the day of our visit.

Inside, the bar also serves as the counter for a cafe serving coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cakes and savoury snacks. The bar is to the right-hand side as you enter. There is a dartboard in one corner.

To the other side is a lounge where a real fire was lit, despite the doors of the pub being open as it was a warm day. The furniture here is very mismatched and quite gaudy. With flies everywhere indoors, it was unsurprising that most customers were sat outside.

In addition to the motorcycle meet, other events were advertised, such as trips to Newmarket races, a karaoke night, a car boot sale and a bingo night.

There are 3 handpulls, but ironically we found exactly the same 2 cask ales we had found in the Swan at Monks Eleigh - Greene King Abbot & Mauldon's Mole Trap. A third handpull was unclipped. The cider was Aspall's.

A pub that is not without some interest but maybe a little too eccentric for my liking.
