A large dining pub, still owned by Whitbread, with Premier Inn adjoining. it was probably once an historic hotel but there is not much trace of that now. Totally predictable furnishings with random artefacts and nearly all laid up for diners. It does at least have a couple of handpumps, well four actually with two in use, serving Doom Bar and Tribute in acceptable condition on this occasion.

the River Thames, so nice views from the windows and also a lot of one-drop tourists. White and battleship blue colour scheme. Two ales on, Doom and Tribute. The Tribute was atrocious, took an age to pour out and the resultant liquid was a grotesque sea-monkey farm. The barmaid, barely literate it seemed, was about as much use as the clap. Beer was expensive. We scarpered. Avoid like the plague.
