Komakino . left this review about The Dog House Inn
Situated in the inbetween hamlet of Broughton, this building initially served a railway that ran next to it which is now long-gone (the area is actually called Broughton Crossing). Strangely, the bar and main restaurant are located up a flight of stairs, with the toilets and a function room at ground level. The upstairs itself is a long, elongated rectangular shape, with a small 'L' formed with an extended area opposite the far left-hand side of the long bar, which is itself located to the left and an exposed-stone-painted-purple restaurant area to the right. The floor is a nice rough, worn wood with the extended area carpeted and done-up, in contrast to parts of the bar area which had a 'work in progress' look to it with partly-decorated walls and ceiling. This extended to the bar which offered just Fuller's London Pride: HSB being reversed with a third handpump unclipped. A pint of keg Backyard Shed Head came in at £4.20 and background muzak was provided by what seemed to be The Beach Boys' greatest hits. Oh, and for the easily-offended, the male and female toilets are signed Dogs and Bitches respectively - all very Wu-Tang Clan.
