Today we went to Robins Farm to celebrate our wedding anniversary with our family, 6 of us.
We all opted for the Carvery, First in the queue was my son who opted for Pork and Beef, as he was handed his plate I joked with him that he didn't get a lot of meat. In my absolute amazement one of the staff that were carving the meat said to me "so what do you want, the whole joint?" I was absolutely gobsmacked!! But not only that he went on to mock me to his colleague whilst I was in front of the meat counter and beyond not realizing that 4 members of my family were behind me even calling me a "fat git" as my family informed me after we had left the building.
We did go to the Robins Farm regularly previous to this incident but be assured because I have never been so insulted in all my life there will not be another visit, I am disgusted and shocked at the way I have been treated today.

What can i say. Understandable it was going to be busy due to it being bank holiday. Waiting for 15 mins for our table, which was fine. After being seated, i looked down to find the floor was covered with food, drop knifes,it was awful. I called a waitress who tried to clean it, even getting on her hands and knees.
The food was nice. Would i go back, properly not. I think this is just a money making place.

New Farmhouse Inns on the ever expanding Northern Fringe of Swindon. As with the two recent openings in Bristol these pubs are identikit pubs that you plonk anywhere you desire and are generally just mass money making machines based on a model around food and a daily carvery in a big non descript building.
Build it and they will come culture and this was certainly the case on my visit 6 days after opening.
These premises do retain a small area for drinkers where tables aren't laid up (7 I counted) but I'm sure if they are full to the rafters these would be offered to diners or available for food without waiting to be shown to your seating.
There is a family area where any hint of something noisy and annoying arriving with adults are swiftly directed to at the rear of the pub.
4 hand pumps are available and offered beers were Abbots Ale, clip reversed assume a busy opening week. Greene King IPA, Old Speckled Hen and Timothy Taylor landlord.
Generally not the sort of place you go to unless having food or you happen to have had one plonked on your doorstep and the notion of walking to anywhere with atmosphere escapes you.
