We called in here on Saturday eve and as you'd expect the place was full. We walked up to the counter that faces you, once through the doors and received a good welcome from the French barmaid, who showed us the choice of four ales on stillage from behind the counter. I went for the Pig and Porter Fatal Flaw, which was outstanding and one of the best beers of the day.
We found a couple of spaces in a small room on the right and soon the chat was following between fellow customers. There was an open plan kitchen on the left of entrance, where service was in full flight, offering a choice from a three course menu. I was very impressed with this set up in here and would happily return, maybe to have a bite to eat on another visit.

A former pizza restaurant, the cooking facilities now used to prepare crepes by the French owners – hence the name. The left hand side of the front bar is the eating bit, from which the very impressive creperie can be viewed, while the smaller room on the right is a micro-style bar area which also serves as a picture gallery. The décor is a melange of driftwood and white tiles, while the six barrels of gravity-fed ale are mounted on stillage behind the counter, probably not the best climate for them, but with any luck they'll move fast enough for it not to matter too much. I had a pint of Four Candles, which was in perfect condition, so perhaps the storage isn't an issue. Eclectic, eccentric and electronically exclusive (no WIFi, ban on mobile phones), it's well worth a visit.
