Brewery Tap located in a suntrap courtyard. The bar is directly in front of you, as you enter the building, with the brewing equipment located behind the bar. On the ground floor, there are a couple of seats at the bar and one large tables, signed as the Captain's Table, on a slightly higher level. Seating is by way of wooden topped casks. Further seating can be found on a mezzanine level but it is the outdoor seating in the courtyard, which was most popular in the sunshine.

Walls are painted black with a large picture of a squid on the wall opposite the bar. Music was playing, whilst a TV high above the bar was switched off. Dominoes and a few other small games were available to play.

On the bar, there are 3 handpulls. Just 2 were clipped with Lyme Gold & Heir of the Dog both on. Keg beers are dispensed from taps on the back of the bar - Lyme Regis 284°, Steady Habits, Dorset Pearl, Revenge & Poker's Pod. Ciders were Sandford Orchards Devon Red & Lilley's Rhubarb. Cocktails and soft drinks are also sold, whilst various shelves have cans and bottles of Lyme Regis beers and beers/ciders from other breweries/producers. Spirits, glasses, bags, sweatshirts and t-shirts are also on sale.

Nice, small brewery which is certainly one of the highlights of the Lyme Regis pub/bar scene.

Lovely tap room - off the beaten track but along a wonderful footpath if you follow the river signs. Small, with most of the seating outside but on a warm spring day, few places finer to sit and drink.

All their wares on - three on cask, 8 on keg including a couple of ciders. I went for a flight of 3 thirds and a NEIPA. All were excellent.

Most enjoyable visit.

As indicated below, the bar itself is in a small shack next to the square, but all drinking is al fresco. For that reason plastic glasses are used, and drinkers intermingle with people visiting other businesses here or people just passing through. Most of Lyme Brewery’s range of cask and craft was available, but I wonder how much of it will be on during the Winter when there is less desire to linger. On hand pull were Idler, Best and Gold, while the craft menu consisted of Rhubarb Cider, Longshere Lager, 284 Session IPA, Golden Cap Lager, Moon Rise Milk Stout, Poker’s Pool Pale Ale and Dorset Pearl Pale Ale. The young staff were enthusiastic and friendly, and it was good fun to mingle with others, a very sociable way to enjoy good beer. I’ll certainly be back again

The Brewery Tap can be found at The Town Mill in Lyme Regis, a short walk from the main street and the seafront There is a microbrewery, a bar and an off licence. The pub 'room' is the beautiful medieval courtyard of The Town Mill. As you can see from the photo, it is uncovered, so it is a far-weather only venue. Lyme Regis Brewery brew a range of six regular beers and a range of seasonal specials. There are always 3-5 cask ales available on handpump. I enjoyed the beers - all good quality and well-kept. The flight of three x third-pints is a good way of starting out. Highly recommended.
