Bucking Fastard left this review about The Fairway Inn
An unremarkable building in a public golf course which is open to all comers. The club shop is to the right, while the middle entrance opens to a lobby with high tables and chairs to one side and sofas to the other.Through a doorway ,the tap room has oblong wooden tables,a Sky Soprts screen and the bar, while a side door leads to an unkempt games room with pool table and darts board, although neither looked much used.Beyond are the loos and another entrance to the shop.To the left of the building is a seperate function room, quite large with it's own bar access.
This place opens at 8am for breakfasts and will serve alcohol from 11am everyday and expect the customers to be predominatly male golfers engaging in white van man banter. There are two handpumps on the bar but only one functional dispensing Tring Brock Bitter on my trip while lager seemed the drink of choice.
The chef was chalking up the days menu ,which on Sunday is mainly roasts but pricing seemed quite cheap and a full English breakfast will set you back £6.
Functional if playing golf (there is also a pitch and put) or walking the local footpaths but I can see little other reason to pay a return visit.
