One of the Loungers chain, this large waterside bar is housed over 3 levels in a modern tower block in the marina complex, yet the décor and layout give it a bit of character and style. There is also an outside seating area overlooking the marina. Like most of this chain it’s let down by the lack of real ale, and in this particular case by the attitude of the staff, unusual in this chain whose CEO has high standards. In particular, a slovenly young female could clearly see we were waiting to be served yet continued chatting to her mate, and when she did serve us there was considerable resentment and real gobbiness when discussing exactly what constituted a full pint. Keg options were Brixton Reliance Pale Ale, Hofmeister, Cruzcampo, Menebrea, Moretti and Old Mout. The staff here made it an unenjoyable experience, and given the proximity of similar bars, I shan’t be coming back to this one.
