The Tyneside Cinema Bar Cafe is very much as it suggests on the tin. It's a cafe bar for a cinema. It was fairly busy on our Saturday afternoon visit, not necessarily with cinemagoers. Whilst not a traditional bar/pub, it does serve some fairly unusual cask ales and it also has the advantage of opening early.
Timothy Taylor Landlord is the regular cask ale. Guests for our visit were North Pier XPA & Three Brothers While The Cat's Away The Mice IPA. A fourth handpull was unclipped. Almasty Session IPA & Beavertown Neck Oil were on keg.
Worth a visit if you're in the area when in Newcastle, but it's not a destination pub/bar.

Very much a cafe bar with loads of assorted food and many cakes being served durung our visit. It's the bar for the Tyneside Theatre, so there is quite an ebb and flow of punters. A pleasant atmosphere and lots of ladies who lunch. Surprisingly there are 4 handpumps on the bar, all badged. We each had a different beer and they were both in really good condition. As Ray says, it's a lot better than expected.

Surprisingly better than I imagined, with a good choice of four locales. We went for the Wylam 35mm and the Errant Clever Girl IPA. This bar is positioned in the foyer area of the cinema. The bar area was modern in style, with a black granite counter and copper panels along the bar front ran along the left hand side of the entrance.
Grey leather buttoned bench seating ran along the left hand side and the middle section had low tables and chairs. At the rear of this space was a red velvet curtain, which lead into a private area with cinema screen.
We noticed that this was Spielbergs week of films and over the next seven weeks different directors would feature each week.
