A good pub with a strong local following. Retains a two room layout, or even three if you count the servery area by the bar and is relatively unmodernised, with something of a facelift instead providing a limited number of graphics on fairly plain walls. A log-burner provides extra warmth in the right hand room. Many people seemed to be in for eating, with food generally of the no-nonsense variety. Two handpumps offered Tribute and a guest, which was Ready Steady Go from the Craft Brewing Company, and in excellent condition.

This is a pub I have passed by many times on my way home from work and my impression was more of a restaurant than pub. However I learnt it had recently been taken over by a local resident keen for a local community pub when the freehold came on the market,so I stopped off one Sunday, early evening to find just that ,a traditional locals pub, two roomed with wooden flooring and some exposed brickwork in certain sections. There was some artwork on the walls from the expressionist period and the like. Three handpumps were serving Thurstons Horsell Gold,Caledonion Flying Scotsman and Timothy Taylors Landlord, there was a blackboard on the wall telling us whats coming next, which in this case was Hogs Back HBB, Tillingbourne Hop Troll and Hop Back Yakima Blonde, upon ordering I was offered the choice of a straight or handled glass.
The Fox Inn does do food but is very much a pub.I liked it here.
