Will Larter left this review about Crofters Rest @ Arisaig Hotel

As with many Scottish hotels there is a separate public bar, in this instance named the Crofters Rest. It's an additional building to the left of the main hotel, and linked to it by the reception area. Being built on a fairly steep hill it has two levels with a few steps between. The bar is to the right on entering, with two hand pumps though only one beer on at the time of my visit: Cromarty Happy Chappy 4.1%. There's a decent collection of malt whisky plus the usual keg beers and ready-mixed cocktails. The background music was a bit too forward for my liking. The wall opposite the bar counter is papered with sheet music and concert flyers, and a couple of guitars and a fiddle are hung up on hooks - luckily it's not a weekend. The view from the partly enclosed decking would be better if a couple of boat sheds weren't in the way; also if it would just stop raining.

Blue Scrumpy left this review about Arisaig Hotel

Situated about 8-9 miles from Mallaig, the bar of the Arisaig Hotel is located in a barn-like structure, set on two levels. The upper level seems to be mainly for diners. But on our Saturday evening visit, any diners had either finished or had long since departed.

Staff were friendly enough and having had the choice of either the Orkney Island Life or the Cromarty Happy Chappy earlier in the day at the Plockton Hotel, it was sod's law that I chose the latter, which was happened to also be the solitary real ale in Arisaig. So, I ended up reverting to another Scottish classic Irn Bru!

Staff are friendly here and the drinking environment was relaxed.
