This is a large-scale sports bar that has replaced another large-scale sports bar on the first floor of Crossrail Place. There is a bar on the walk into the venue on the right-hand side that was not open on my early Monday evening visit, neither were the regular tables and chairs around it, plus colourful booth tables on the left-hand side in use. There is a darting area on the left-hand side beyond the front bar counter. Instead, a short further walk takes you into the main bar area with an island bar not quite in the centre of the space but pushed more towards the rear wall. The area is bare boarded with regular tables and chairs, mostly of the tall variety. The open kitchen faces the near side of the bar counter. The area the other side of the bar counter had more of the same seating arrangements but with regular tables and chairs. Over to the left of the bar counter are some more booth tables and a raised seating area along the middle part of the rear wall on this side. There are shed loads of screens all showing a variety of recorded sporting action on my visit plus a low-key music soundtrack. Quite a few quiz and arcade style machines dotted around plus a couple of private pool table rooms not in use on my visit. High ceilings and industrial fit out the order of the day here. Remember the previous incarnation with fondness as the venue for the viewing of the Roma tonking in the first leg of the Champions League SF in April 2018, but i generally prefer sports bars that are more intimate and less corporate - not going to get that in CW!

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Sports Bar & Grill
Large new bar / restaurant in Crossrail Place. Anonymous modern furniture and decor in a variety of seating / dining areas. As you would expect from the name, plenty of sports TVs (although most on different channels so hard to follow) but it's not really what most people would expect from the name. Just EPA, Brakspear Bitter and Pedigree (£4.60) available from a total of nine handpumps on the main counter and another trio from the smaller island bar at the back.
