Another hotel bar/brasserie that is open to all. It’s a semi-subterranean place that is surprisingly expansive and has a lot more character than the nearby River View. One ale over the far side of the bar - Rebellion IPA - was cold but in startlingly good nick although it was very expensive. High-brow chat amongst the punters. Points of note were some nice moulded cornices and tasteful wall prints. Silent TV (why bother?). Quite busy and a decent atmosphere in here but it isn't really one I'd want to do again.
