This is an old pub situated on the busy main road that runs through Newton Abbot. It has one large bar dominated by a huge wall mounted flat screen television on one side and no less than three dart boards on the opposite wall overlooking a pool table. It is clearly a local sports bar style pub. The only beers are fizz, lager or cider, no craft beers. The place is spotlessly tidy and neatly decorated. Bar staff were friendly and despite the local vibe I didn’t feel unwelcome. I wouldn’t bother returning just because it doesn’t serve anything I would be interested in but it is a reasonable place and obviously popular.
