David Ross left this review about The Ballroom
The name refers to sport rather than dancing, as this is one of a chain of what claims to be Scotland’s Premier Sports Bars. It is a sizeable establishment with various rooms containing full size snooker tables, pool tables (both British and American), dart boards, poker tables, a sales showroom and lots of TV screens showing sports channels. There is, of course, also a bar, which is open to the public and you can just have a drink without playing any of the sports/games and without joining anything. A pint of Guinness cost me £3.40 and Tennent’s, Stella Artois and Peroni lagers, Caledonia Best and Magners cider are also on tap. Food is available all day, every day and children are welcome. The bar, with windows looking onto the street, is modern and comfortable, but rather bland. All in all, this is a pretty impressive establishment, but is mainly geared towards sport and is probably not the best place to go if you’re just looking for a drink.
