This is a pizza parlour with beer - unfortunately, it's all keg or bottled beer. It's the sort of place where a server approaches you as you walk through the door. We indicated that we'd like to just perch on bar stools and choose a beer, upon which we were presented with several pages of A4 paper stapled into a booklet (see website for the same list). There are a few keg fonts on the bar, which included McGargles Uncle Jim's Stout, Wharfebank Yorkshire IPA, and a lager and an IPA from Brass Castle; the lager (craft) turned out to have been replaced temporarily by Becks (not craft). We went for the Wharfebank Yorkshire IPA, which was cold and fizzy, and the nitrokeg stout, which tasted of nothing at all.
We went outside to drink our beers, because the smell of hot olive oil was getting to us. There are a handful of tables and chairs, but when we were followed out by half a dozen other non-pizza-eaters there were not enough to go around. I can understand that a place like this, situated within a stone's throw of the Fat Cat and the Kelham Island Tavern, is not going to try to compete on real ale, but even so I found this a rather disappointing experience. Not to mention an expensive one: £4.65 for two halves is not the going rate for Sheffield.
