Stunning location for this Lloyds and certainly holds some grandeur from this former bank. The former staff would be horrified now, seeing the place packed out on curry Thursday, downing loads of booze. We went for the Moorhouse's Blonde Witch priced at £2.46 in good condition. Other beers on our visit, Titanic Raspberry Pale, Phoenix Arizona, Saltaire Unity & Amarillo, Beartown Skinfull, Coach House Bootleg Valentine and Grainstore Ten Fifty. As you can see quite a good line up of guest beers.

Classic Barque style building (formerly a TSB bank) that has undergone Wetherconversion not too long ago. Large inside with two distinct high ceilinged rooms and an ornate ceiling. Surprisingly light as well in the rear bar area. Somehow I ended-up with two beers in here, Kirkby Lonsdale Jubilee (NBSS 3.5) and one from Phoenix (3.5). Seemed like an upper quartile Spoons to me (and I’ve been in a fair few) and much more enjoyable than the Grey Friar, the other JDW in town that I bookended the day with.

Pub thirteen on our Preston crawl and was coerced by Mr Fastard into giving it a go, my resistance to the idea was quite pathetic and ultimately futile. As impressive as the building is and any features within a Spoons is a Spoons in my book and to me it was just another beer canteen, Of course it serves a purpose and my Acorn Old Moor was OK but these places are just not my thing so didn't particularly enjoy it at all.

The Twelve Tellers was the last pub on a meaty crawl through Preston’s ale houses so my memory and notes are lacking. The large open plan front of the pub was very busy, as were the snug areas down the right rear. The bar on the left rear wall supports two banks of six handpumps alongside a premium and standard keg selection. The usual Spoons food menu is available. I quite like these old converted JDW’s so would return if in the area.

As described variously below, an impressive Spoons bank conversion with a splendid ceiling and generally a pleasant feel to it. The Jubilee Stout was in good form.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Twelve Tellers (Lloyds No 1 Bar)
Impressive-looking building, with a spacious seating / dining area under a high ceiling in the former banking hall. The smaller bar area is set further back, as is at least one other room. Excellent selection of real ales from the two banks of six handpumps, including my pint of Hopsack (£2.10), one of three different Phoenix beers available.

As described below, this is somewhat more upmarket and cosmopolitan by the standards of some 'spoons, me plumping for a half of Acorn's Old Moor at the early '90s price of just £1.05.
This would probably make for a good double with Popworld next door. ;-)

This central Wetherspoons situated on the main Fishergate/Church Street drag is a conversion from a former bank as mentioned below and the front section of the pub does retain some nice period features such as the large airy windows, the white plaster decorated ceiling, the large now dark green industrial pillars and the half wood panelling. Unfortunately the back section which contains the main bar is not so interesting. My visits here book ended my Preston crawl, as I first visited early morning for the typical spoons breakfast, (which I noted has been creeping up in price over recent months), and then again in the evening for the final beer of the crawl.
So I experienced it firstly as a comfortable quite place to enjoy a Spoons breakfast and then later as a large noisy drinking barn.
Decent ales choice and alongside the usual Spoons Trio of Doom were Phoenix Double Gold and Hopsock, Coach House Brewing Rabbit’s Punch, Elgoods Patron Saint, Kirby Lonsdale Brewery Jubilee Stout, Greengate Brewery Boilerhouse and Acorn Old Moor Porter and the two I tried during my visits were in good nick.
I agree that there is a lot of decent ale choices close by and also wouldn’t beat a path here over other nearby alternatives, but as it is a reuse of a picturesque piece of historic architecture and had a bit of character, they served my breakfast fast and efficiently and there was a decent ale choice to go with it I am inclined to rate it a ‘Len Goodman’ also.

Bucking Fastard left this review about The Twelve Tellers (Lloyds No 1 Bar)
A 'spoons set in a former savings bank ,the exterior is grand, the interior less so.The main square banking hall room does however have a very attractive ceiling, while the bar at the rear has a roof light above.
Beside the trio of doom (GK IPA,Abbot and Doom Bar) the other 9 handpumps were all offering a guest beer which is very commendable.
The last stop on a very extensive Preston crawl,my Phoenix Double Gold was decent (NBSS 3.5).However with so many other real ale outlets not far away this 'spoons would not make it on my crawl list unless you want to partake of the keen pricing offered by the chain.

An impressive and large Spoons, obviously an ex-bank, TSB I was told. The main bar is right at the back. Otherwise the usual 5+5 pull layout, it's a bit less cramped than some. In GBG 2019 for some reason.
