E TA left this review about Banana Wharf
One of a small chain, Poole's Banana Wharf occupies the first floor of a new concrete commercial block overlooking Poole Harbour; Tesco Express occupies the ground floor. It is approached up a set of wide concrete steps and through a plaza it shares with a couple of chain eateries. The pub consists of a single large, bright room with a laminate floor, and is divided into a large dining area and a small drinking area. There is also a large outside terrace. The terrace and bar with its glass walls provide excellent views across the Harbour, but this is where the excellence ends. I found the staff obnoxious, surly and unhelpful, the manager especially so. There were various foreign lagers on sale, and a single ale – Whitstable Bay Pale Ale – which was freezing cold, served with too much gas, hideously overpriced and rather unenjoyable. The food is overpriced slop at worst, the sort that children enjoy because they don't know what it's doing to their insides. Apart from the view and the free WiFi it's not worth climbing the steps from Tesco.
