Peter Forster left this review about Twelve Twenty
One of two diner style bars overlooking St Leonard’s Clocktower, Twelve Twenty is the largest set up. A single split level room on the ground floor. This is furnished for dining with a bar at the back. The bar has fizz only supplied by taps on the wall behind the counter. Despite this craft like approach it is really a Eurofizz setup with the only nods otherwise being Camden Stout and Bays Brewery (in Torbay) Devon Rock craft lager which was overpriced at £6.30 a pint. It was okay, as British lagers are. Outside benches are laid out in the pedestrianised street. I didn’t go upstairs but apparently another drinking area, a pool room and a terrace are on the first floor. Staff were a mixture of friendly and the sort that avoid your gaze. Apparently dog friendly throughout. Overall the sort of place you might go for something to eat or even a swift pint on a hot day but not really a beer venue. It could be, with a more imaginative selection of craft beers but I guess that is not their target audience.
