It's a long, steep walk to get to this micropub and the nearby Newsroom. I personally don't think this one on it's own is worth the effort to get here. Exactly as described by Ray below. At the top end there's a rack of sharp tined implements securely attached to the wall with "In case of Zombies" written above them. All the beers available were from Aldwark brewery who own this place now. This is a bit of a shame as I find all there beers to be pretty average. Quite busy on our Sunday, last afternoon visit, but I won't be coming back here again.

Good sized micro. GBG 2022 and the tap room for Aldwark Artisan Ales. Artisan usually has the same meaning as fusion on Indian restaurants. 10% surcharge on costs.
Went for an ABK Hell.
Busy both inside and out.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Stanley's Alehouse
Micropub now owned by Ashover Brewery. We popped in on a Wednesday Eve and found the pub well supported. The interior consisted of one room with a raised section at the rear. The bar was over on the right hand wall, a couple of timber booths along the front window and the rest of the space was small tables and chairs. Seven handpumps, with five ales and two ciders. We went for the Pheasantry Spring Ale and Oakham The Hare and the Hedgehog.

A micropub situated in a former cafe in what looks like a parade of small shops or offices, not far from the county hall and opposite an imposing former factory, now apartments. There are five real ales and two ciders on the very smart bar, though the owner apologised for the predominance of pale beers, the darker ones having run off since she opened on Thursday. (Regular hours are: Closed Mon-Wed; open 5 - 11 Thu, 2 - 11 Fri - Sun.) Among the beers available at the time of our visit were Springhead The Leveller, Lincoln Green Marion and Bumpmill Lightning Bolt. All my companions went for the only dark beer, The Leveller while I, being a bit contrary, tried the XT "3", which was quite a decent IPA from Buckinghamshire. I went onto The Leveller for my second, and enjoyed both beers. Unusually, in my experience of micropubs, there is background music here, but then perhaps they wouldn't necessarily call themselves a micropub?
