Totally empty on our late Sunday afternoon visit whilst the nearby pubs were full. We decided to give it a miss.

A large looking pub with a single square room inside. Some Regency style chairs inside and a large mural on the ceiling. As noted it has 4 large pillars and today the centre of the pub was dominated by a very large Christmas tree. 6 of the 7 handpumps on the go. I'm guessing it was the same chatty barmaid who served Mr Great serving me. A good place to watch the very full River Severn flowing past.

Formerly Bar Severn this place has stood empty for around 15 years , there is a small outside drinking area by the main entrance , the pub frontage looks like a victorian greenhouse , once inside it is one large square room , the left hand side has the now compulsery floor to ceiling bookshelves , and some comfy looking seating , there are a few tables and chairs towards the middle , the bar is to the right , it feel quite empty in here only 4 large pillars and an old church pulpit used as a dj booth break up what is really one large empty space , double doors at the back lead to the nightclub attatched to the bar .
As expected in this sort of bar there is a wide range of cocktails and up-market spirits available including a Gin-nasium with lots of different gins , there is also a large selection of bottled craft beers .
Draught beers are the usual keg taps and unusually for a trendy bar 7 real ales , Sharps Atlantic , Doombar , St Austell Tribute , Woods Wonderfull , Salopian Gold , Lemon Dream and Black Heart , the Tribute was fine and the Black Heart superb .
Customers on my Saturday afternoon visit was a mixed bunch , couples having a post shopping drink , yummy mummies having a coffe and some 40 something trendies trying to re-live there youth .
Barmaid was friendly and very chatty .
A welcome addition to Shrewsburys pub scene .
