Will Larter left this review about The Winter Green
A modern food-oriented estate pub, which WhatPub says is to a new design, but once inside a familiar mixture of food smells and bad pop music makes it much like any other modern Marstons pub. To be fair, there were two banks of four hand pumps, with Pedigree, Bombardier and Forty-niner on, and Wainwright waiting in the cellar, and WhatPub says there is a designated drinking area. My drinking companion went for Pedigree and I had Bombardier; we were both pleasantly surprised by the quality of the beers. We sat outside to avoid the auditory and olfactory assaults indoors. The beer garden has a few tables, a semi-covered area and two smokers cabins, one of which we used despite not being smokers, as it kept the cold November wind off us for as long as it took to drink our pints. I wouldn't say I would contemplate another visit, but anyone who finds themselves obliged to take family members for a meal could do worse than call in here, remembering to designate someone else as the driver for the journey home.
