Quinno _ left this review about The Old Post Office
New micro pub with three small drinking areas going back on themselves. Larger room at front with views over the road, impressive carved wood wall panelling and stuffed animal heads. Up a step to main bar, then a couple more for rear room which is probably the most characterful with feature fireplace, wall tapestry, breweriana and a model ship above the fireplace. Three ales on tap and four on draft, all fairly local. My Phipps Diamond Ale from stillage was a pretty good drop and at £1.50 a half, competitively priced. An enjoyable little place and as it's only a few minutes from the immediate town centre, well-worthwhile.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Old Post Office
One of the larger new-style breed of micro-pubs, with three distinct seating areas all on different levels. Small lounge at the front with dark paintwork and wood panelling, a compact bar in the middle and a brightly-lit little room to the rear. Also has a couple chairs out front. Decor is largely breweriana. No food available but you are encouraged to bring your own or order a take-away to be delivered. Three real ales on handpump and three more on gravity when I visited, all housed in the friendly landlord's home-made cooling cabinet behind the counter. A good choice of beer styles was available, all at £3.00, and my pint of Wood Farm 1823 dark mild was excellent.
